Mainframe Developer

Job Description:

• We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining mainframe applications.
• The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and related mainframe technologies, along with a good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write and maintain COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 programs.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
• Support production systems and troubleshoot application issues.
• Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other development teams.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain system specifications.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2
• Knowledge of VSAM, IMS, TSO/ISPF
• Experience with Endeavor, Changeman, or other version control tools
• Understanding of mainframe batch and online processing
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and defect management tools
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to Mainframe modernization projects
• Experience with MQ Series, Easytrieve, REXX, or Syncsort
• Knowledge of DevOps practices in Mainframe environments
• Banking, Insurance, Retail, or Healthcare domain experience
