Genesis10 is currently seeking a Technician for a Remote position with a Global Transportation Technology Company located in Erie, PA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This position is 100% remote.
Compensation: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview: This role involves providing hands-on technical support for advanced rail and mass transit systems. The ideal candidate will act as a company representative to railcar builders, assisting with debugging, troubleshooting, and commissioning of complex electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities: - Thoroughly understand and apply manufacturer's procedures and guidelines
- Serve as the company's representative in front of the railcar builder
- Assist the railcar builder and transit authority with debugging and troubleshooting the company's systems on an as-required basis
- Support the railcar builder during the car commissioning and warranty phases of the project at transit authority and assembly plant locations
- Troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical problems on the company's systems
- Confirm problems identified by the railcar builder
Primary Requirements: - High School diploma
- At least 5+ years of experience working as a technician or equivalent
- Technical competence and training in both electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot using a laptop and perform software downloads
- Strong mechanical aptitudes
- Strong knowledge of PCs/laptops and MS Excel
- Ability to work unsupervised in transit authority locations
- Valid driver's license as travel is required
- Integrity, honesty, and accountability
Desired Skills: - Technical certification(s)
- Experience in Mass Transit or Rail
- Ability to lead temporary project staff
