Job Summary

The NOC Technician is responsible for advanced network troubleshooting, incident resolution, and proactive monitoring. This role serves as an escalation point for Tier 1 support and ensures network performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues (voice, data/IP, transport, email, and DWDM).
• Monitor network performance, alarms, and logs to ensure high availability.
• Escalate and coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and field services as needed.
• Perform network maintenance, including provisioning routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Provide timely updates and technical support to customers.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in ticketing systems.
• Act as an escalation point for Tier 1 technicians.

Required Qualifications

• 2 5 years of experience in a NOC or technical support role.
• Hands-on experience with DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) is required.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, BGP, and OSPF.
• Experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Adtran, Fortinet).
• Familiarity with tools like ServiceNow, Netcool, or Zabbix.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills.

Preferred

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or JNCIA.
• Telecommunications experience.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Work Environment

• 24/7 NOC environment; flexibility for shifts (nights/weekends) required.
