Summary

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Scrum Master / Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic technology initiatives. Acting as a servant leader, this individual will champion Agile best practices, coach delivery teams, and remove impediments to keep work flowing predictably. The role owns project timelines, budgets, and risk management while providing clear visibility into progress, dependencies, and outcomes. The ideal candidate blends hands-on Scrum facilitation with disciplined program management to consistently turn roadmap commitments into delivered business value.

Key Responsibilities:

Agile Leadership & Scrum Facilitation:

  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies — Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
  • Coach teams on Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and broader Agile practices to raise delivery maturity.
  • Proactively identify and remove impediments so teams can meet their sprint commitments.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Monitor sprint progress, velocity, and team capacity to drive predictable, sustainable delivery.

Project & Program Management:

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional partners across Product, Engineering, QA, Architecture, Operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Track deliverables and ensure timely execution against roadmap commitments.
  • Manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests with clear mitigation plans.
  • Drive release planning and delivery governance across multiple concurrent workstreams.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and key decisions to leadership in a timely, transparent manner.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and metrics on project health and team performance.
  • Facilitate decision-making and alignment across technical and business teams.
  • Manage vendor and third-party partner coordination where applicable.

Delivery Excellence:

  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Establish and track KPIs including sprint velocity, burndown trends, release predictability, and quality metrics.
  • Drive process improvements that optimize quality, productivity, and customer outcomes.
  • Support continuous integration, release planning, and deployment-readiness activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Project Manager, or Agile Program Manager.
  • Proven track record managing software development projects in Agile environments.
  • Expertise with Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other Agile frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile management tools.
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC, software development practices, and release management.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI-ACP, or SAFe certification.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience leading cloud, digital transformation, mobile, web, or enterprise platform initiatives.
  • Experience leading distributed and offshore teams

Salary/Rate: $60-$70/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
