Summary

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop high-performance, scalable backend applications using Java 8/11/17 and Spring Boot
Build and maintain event-driven microservices using Apache Kafka
Develop and optimize RESTful APIs supporting low-latency trading and transaction systems
Implement multi-threaded and concurrent processing using Java Concurrency APIs
Build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/OpenShift)
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation
Configure and manage build tools such as Maven or Gradle
Monitor and troubleshoot production systems using Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana
Work closely with DevOps teams on automation, deployment strategies, and environment provisioning
Participate in performance tuning, memory optimization, and thread analysis
Provide production support and root cause analysis for distributed systems

Required Skills

10+ years of hands-on Java development experience
Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Security, REST APIs
Solid experience with Apache Kafka (Producers, Consumers, Partitions, Offsets)
Experience in multi-threading, ExecutorService, and concurrency management
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, IAM)
Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle / PostgreSQL / MySQL)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments

Preferred Skills

Experience in Investment Banking / Capital Markets
Knowledge of distributed transaction patterns (Saga)
Experience with Infrastructure automation (Terraform)
Knowledge of tuning and JVM performance optimization
Experience with Resilience4j / Circuit Breaker patterns
