- Location: WA Harriman CampBldg. 8, Albany, NY 12227 (Negotiable telecommuting up to 50% after 4 months on-site)
- Engagement Duration: 30 Months
- Work Hours: Full-Time (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Interview Format: Webcasting (Camera Required)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Make high-level design choices and establish technical standards (coding, tools, frameworks) for tax application modernization.
- Lead programming and architectural design duties for major systems, including Collections/Accounts Receivable, Taxpayer Accounting, and Withholding Tax Returns Processing.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into automated J2EE applications.
- Develop, mentor, and train staff in technologies such as J2EE, Spring, JSON, JavaScript, JDBC, Java, DB2, XML, and XQuery.
- Draft and review detailed specification documents, architecture plans, and system change requirements.
- Formulate unit test plans, conduct debugging, and coordinate code migrations from dev to user test environments.
- Facilitate meetings with ITS and DTF management/business stakeholders, providing prompt defect and issue resolution.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Skill Level: Expert (84+ months of experience providing architectural guidance to large teams and setting enterprise standards).
Requested Qualifications & Experience
- J2EE Technologies: 84+ months of experience with J2EE technologies, including EJB, JDBC, JSP, and XML.
- IBM Java Development Environment: 84+ months of Java programming in an IBM ecosystem using IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD) and WebSphere Application Server (WAS) deployments.
- IBM DB2 & XML: 84+ months of IBM DB2 database experience, including working with XML schemas (definition, querying, automated generation).
- Performance Tuning: 60+ months of experience in performance tuning applications that interact with large-scale databases.
- Messaging Systems: 60+ months of experience with IBM MQSeries.
- Full Lifecycle Architectural Experience: 60+ months delivering technical design, development, maintenance, and end-user support in enterprise environments.
