OverviewWe are seeking
an in-house AV Technicians to support audiovisual operations at a law school in New York City. This role focuses on
large conference and classroom support, live event setup, real-time monitoring, and troubleshooting AV systems. Ideal candidates are hands-on, customer-facing, and comfortable supporting faculty, staff, and high-profile academic events.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and break down AV equipment for large lectures, conferences, and special events
- Support classrooms, auditoriums, and conference spaces with daily AV needs
- Monitor live events and classes to ensure proper audio, video, and presentation performance
- Troubleshoot AV issues in real time (audio, video, control systems, displays)
- Support microphones, projectors, displays, cameras, and conferencing platforms
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and event coordinators to ensure smooth execution
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and equipment checks
- Escalate technical issues as needed and document resolutions
- Provide on-site technical support during high-visibility events
Required Skills- Hands-on experience with AV equipment and systems
- Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, and presentation issues quickly
- Experience supporting conferences, events, or classroom technology
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a live environment
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting higher education, corporate conferencing, or event spaces
- Familiarity with projectors, displays, microphones (wired/wireless), mixers, and control panels
- Exposure to Zoom, Teams, or other conferencing platforms
- Basic understanding of AV signal flow
Additional Qualifications- Reliable and professional in client-facing environments
- Flexible schedule to support events outside standard hours if needed
- Ability to lift and move AV equipment as required
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
