Job Description:

1-year contract + extension or conversion

Onsite 4x a week in Downtown Houston

Role Overview

Experienced Platform Scrum Master (RTE) with 8-10 years of experience leading Agile delivery across complex enterprise and technology platforms. The ideal candidate will combine strong SAFe expertise and RTE-level delivery leadership with solid functional and technical understanding of data and analytics (D&A).

This role will coordinate multiple data & analytics platform teams, manage cross-team dependencies, facilitate PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt events, drive impediment resolution, and provide program-level visibility across D&A initiatives. The candidate must be comfortable working with Data & AI product Architects, AI teams, D&A Application teams, vendors and senior Data & AI products leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Scrum Master for enterprise D&A and platform teams, coordinating delivery across multiple Agile teams and workstreams.
  • Lead SAFe ceremonies and Agile events, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demo, Inspect & Adapt and retrospective sessions.
  • Manage and coordinate Program Increments (PIs), ensuring teams are aligned to PI objectives, committed deliverables, milestones, and business priorities.
  • Work closely with D&A Architects, Engineering Leads, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and technical SMEs to translate technical priorities into executable Agile work.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies, impediments, risks, issues and integration points across D&A, applications, cybersecurity, cloud and enterprise technology teams.
  • Facilitate Scrum of Scrums ensuring issues requiring cross-team action are identified and resolved quickly.
  • Partner with Product Owners and Engineering Leads to maintain healthy backlogs, priorities, features, enablers, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Track PI objectives, team commitments, velocity, capacity, predictability, flow metrics and delivery KPIs, using metrics to identify delivery risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive effective capacity planning and resource alignment across D&A/platform teams, considering competing priorities and technical dependencies.
  • Coordinate release planning, deployment readiness, environment readiness, implementation activities and production transition across D&A teams.
  • Ensure D&A dependencies are incorporated into application and enterprise technology release plans.
  • Proactively identify delivery constraints and work with leadership to remove blockers related to environment availability, infrastructure capacity, network connectivity, access, security controls, vendors, and technical dependencies.
  • Facilitate executive and stakeholder communication, providing concise PI status, risks, dependencies, impediments, milestones and delivery forecasts.
  • Collaborate with enterprise PMO, Technology leadership and Architecture teams to align Agile delivery with broader technology roadmaps and strategic D&A initiatives.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and managed service providers where D&A/platform dependencies impact delivery.
  • Promote continuous improvement across teams by analyzing delivery metrics, flow, dependencies, bottlenecks, and recurring impediments.
  • Support Inspect & Adapt sessions and ensure identified improvement actions are converted into actionable backlog items and followed through to completion.

Required Qualifications
  • 7-10+ years of experience in Scrum Master, RTE or similar enterprise technology delivery roles.
  • SAFe experience is mandatory, with strong hands-on experience operating as an RTE or in an RTE-type role within a large enterprise Agile environment.
  • SAFe certification required, preferably SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Agilist (SA) or equivalent, with RTE certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools, processes, and technologies and adapt to change
  • Comfortable working across data platforms, AI/ML initiatives, and engineering teams
  • Strong bias for execution, ownership, and accountability
  • Direct communicator who can drive clarity, alignment, and action across diverse teams
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple D&A teams and complex technical dependencies across an Agile Release Train.
  • Strong experience with PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, PI Objectives, Program Increment execution, Inspect & Adapt and Agile metrics.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar Agile delivery tools, including backlog, sprint, feature, dependency, and reporting management.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, SAFe, Scrum and Kanban, with the ability to apply the right practices across D&A teams.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior executives.
