Under the direction of DFA, this role serves as the lead Azure Cloud Architect responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the agency s transition from on-premises systems to Microsoft Azure, including migrating enterprise systems such as the state payroll system (SPAHRS) from zLinux mainframes to secure, scalable cloud platforms. The position is both strategic and hands-on, involving development of Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions, cloud governance and security strategy, automation of provisioning and configuration processes, integration of hybrid and containerized environments, and support for Windows Server, Linux, and legacy system migrations. The architect will collaborate closely with technical and administrative teams, provide documentation and knowledge transfer, and ensure long-term sustainability of cloud services. Candidates must have a bachelor s degree in a related field and at least five years of experience in Azure architecture, cloud migrations, DevOps engineering, cloud security and compliance, and network administration, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
