The FSR Lead will provide onsite technical expertise, leadership, and coordination for fielding, operation, troubleshooting, and sustainment of the M-SHORAD system across CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.

This role will serve as the senior onsite technical focal point for both the customer and SAIC, overseeing a team of FSRs, ensuring high system availability, and driving consistent execution of maintenance and training activities in support of mission readiness.

Responsibilities
  • Lead FSR Team Operations
    • Provide day-to-day leadership, tasking, and oversight of a team of field service representatives supporting M-SHORAD units.
    • Serve as primary onsite interface with government leads, unit leadership, and SAIC program management.
    • Coordinate FSR schedules, deployment rotations, travel, and coverage to meet operational requirements.
  • Technical Support & Maintenance
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting, fault isolation, and corrective actions on M-SHORAD platforms and subsystems (e.g., sensors, weapons, mission equipment, C2, communications, power).
    • Guide and mentor FSRs in diagnosing hardware, software, and integration issues; escalate complex issues to engineering teams as required.
    • Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, system upgrades, and modifications in accordance with technical manuals and approved procedures.
    • Ensure accurate use of test equipment, diagnostic tools, and software utilities.
  • Fielding, Integration & Configuration Management
    • Support new system fielding, platform integration, and acceptance testing activities.
    • Validate configurations, load software and firmware updates, and confirm system operation post-maintenance or modification.
    • Maintain configuration control and documentation for all assigned systems.
  • Customer Interface & Reporting
    • Provide technical briefings, status updates, and recommendations to military leadership and program stakeholders.
    • Capture, track, and report system performance, failures, maintenance actions, and trends using government and SAIC reporting tools.
    • Contribute to root cause analyses and corrective action plans for recurring issues.
  • Training & Documentation
    • Plan and conduct operator and maintainer training for unit personnel, including new equipment training (NET), sustainment training, and on-the-job instruction.
    • Develop or refine training materials, checklists, quick-reference guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Provide feedback to engineering and logistics teams to improve manuals, troubleshooting guides, and technical data.
  • Safety, Compliance & Quality
    • Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with Army regulations, safety standards, and site policies.
    • Enforce adherence to quality, security, and export control requirements throughout maintenance and support operations.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reliability, maintainability, and supportability of the M-SHORAD system.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and five (5)+ years of relevant field service/maintenance experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Clearance Requirements:

Required Skills:
  • Prior experience as a Field Service Representative, Senior Maintainer, or similar role in support of U.S. Army weapon systems, ground combat platforms, air defense, C2, or sensor systems.

  • Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies across hardware, software, networks, and vehicle/platform integration.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, engineering drawings, and schematics.
  • Proficiency with standard Army maintenance processes and tools (e.g., 5988-E / 2404, GCSS-Army or equivalent).
  • Ability and willingness to travel and/or deploy to austere environments, including OCONUS, for extended periods as required by the mission.

Desired:
  • Direct experience with air and missile defense systems.
  • Experience supporting combat vehicle platforms, including integration of mission equipment.
  • Prior military service in an air defense, combat arms, or related technical MOS (e.g., 14-series, 25-series, 91-series).
  • Familiarity with Army test equipment and diagnostic tools, including BIT/BITE and platform-specific tools.
  • Experience with formal training delivery, instructor roles, or training development.
  • Prior experience working on a major DoD acquisition or sustainment program with a prime contractor or OEM.
