Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Position Summary The IT Infrastructure Intern will provide assistance to the Infrastructure Department with various recurring tasks as well as special projects.
Primary Accountabilities - Assist with infrastructure documentation and inventory, hardware replacement and configuration, server maintenance and patching, and technology lifecycle and modernization projects.
- Support technology refresh initiatives across the Bank\'s footprint.
- Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise infrastructure including networking, servers, cloud technologies, security, storage and backup, directory and authentication, collaboration and communications, monitoring, and automation.
- Depending on skill set and project needs, assist with scripting and automation efforts that improve the efficiency of routine infrastructure tasks.
- Shadow members of the Infrastructure team across multiple technical domains and collaborate with other IT teams and business units.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Position Qualifications Education/Experience: - The internship will run for Summer of 2027 beginning mid-May and ending early August.
- Able to work a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Must reside local to Effingham, IL and report to the Effingham office.
- Enrolled in a degree program with courses of study including Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field at a college or university with at least 2 years completed.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python is a plus, but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and a desire to learn.
- Basic understanding of networking, servers, and operating systems.
- Works well in team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Teams.
- Demonstrates ability to learn and use new software and programs.
