Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer for a contract position with a Major Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 10+ month contract opportunity. This role involves collaborating with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using cloud, DevOps, and full-stack development tools. The ideal candidate will work with a team of developers supporting multiple Python-based microservices, batch jobs, and cloud-native integrations, while also integrating SaaS products and third-party platforms into the client's ecosystem.
Responsibilities: - Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using cloud, DevOps, and full-stack development tools and technologies
- Work with a team of developers supporting multiple Python-based microservices, batch jobs, and cloud-native integrations
- Integrate SaaS products and third-party platforms into the client's ecosystem, ensuring secure connectivity, identity integration, monitoring, and operational readiness
- Design and implement automation to streamline provisioning, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and ongoing platform support
- Utilize Python, SQL, open-source RDBMS, and cloud-based data warehousing services such as Snowflake
- Use AWS services such as ECS, EMR, S3, RDS, Athena, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and related cloud infrastructure capabilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated deployments, and environment management processes
- Apply extensive DevOps practices including automation, observability, reliability engineering, release management, and production support
- Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews with other team members to ensure solutions are rigorously designed, securely implemented, effectively automated, and tuned for performance
Requirements: - 8+ years of experience in application development using Python, Scala, or similar programming languages
- 6+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL
- 5+ years of experience with AWS cloud platforms and services
- 5+ years of experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and production support
- 4+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar
- 4+ years of data warehousing experience with Snowflake, or similar platforms
- 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting
- 5+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
Desired skills: - Experience using AI-assisted programming tools such as Claude, Windsurf, or similar tools is a plus
- Experience integrating SaaS or third-party products into enterprise environments is a plus
Pay range: $60.12 - $68.12 per hour
