Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's growing Engineering Technology client has an opening for a Director of Procurement with experience in the Electronic industry. This hybrid role is based in Carlsbad, CA.

Overview:
We are seeking a strategic, execution focused Sourcing Director to lead global sourcing and build a high-performance supplier ecosystem for a fast-growing tech organization. This role develops world class sourcing strategies, negotiates competitive contracts, reduces TCO, and ensures supply continuity across critical categories. As a key cross functional partner, the Sourcing Director influences product development, supports rapid innovation, and strengthens the company's competitive position in the electronics market.

Key Responsibilities (Condensed):
* Develop and execute global sourcing strategies across mechanical, electronic, plastic, metal, and software/IP categories
* Optimize supplier networks for cost, quality, delivery, and innovation
* Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers, lead negotiations for pricing, contracts, and quality agreements
* Drive year over year cost reductions and TCO improvements
* Ensure QA/QC compliance, reliable lead times, and proactive issue resolution
* Support R&D, Engineering, and Operations with sourcing aligned to technical and cost needs
* Enable product development with on time sourcing, DFM input, and early cost modeling
* Build diversification and dual sourcing strategies for business continuity
* Lead and develop procurement talent
* Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, QA, and R&D; Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS:
* BS degree in Engineering or Business or similar field would be ideal
* Experience out of the Electronics industry is required
* Strong background in sourcing/procurement for electronic components, electromechanical assemblies, or other electronic hardware systems, etc.
* Experience supporting global sourcing initiatives across electronics, plastics, metals, and/or software/IP
* High-tech consumer electronics or performance tech background is a plus but not required
* Proven leadership experience in leading a team in sourcing, procurement, or category management
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
* Strategic, data driven thinker with excellent communication skills
* Ability to influence cross-functional partners and lead without direct authority
* Supply chain experience strongly preferred

Bonus Experience:
* Experience in consumer electronics is a plus
* Background in fast paced, innovation heavy tech organizations

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
