Summary
Job: Cloud Engineer/ Cloud Data engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC ( Hybrid)
The Cloud Engineer designs, implements, and modernizes the enterprise landing zone, cloud ingestion patterns, and secure data pipelines, reengineering legacy feeds such as SFTP, Azure Blob, and batch pathways into scalable, automated, cloudnative services aligned with state security policies and compliance requirements. The position collaborates with architects, security teams, vendors, and agency partners to ensure reliable, secure, standardized pipelines from ingestion through transformation and delivery, and it drives operational support across the full lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- Cloud data engineering and integration, including modern lakehouse and medallion architectures.
- ETL and pipeline development with robust orchestration, error handling, validation, and lineage
- Data quality, metadata management, and governance practices to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Security and privacy alignment across frameworks such as HIPAA, CJIS, and NIST, plus DevSecOps awareness
- Networking and cloud platform fundamentals, identity and access management, and distributed compute and storage in Azure, AWS, or SAS Viya
