About the RoleWe are hiring an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support highly technical, mission-critical programs within the federal space.
This is not a traditional, documentation-heavy ISSO role. The position is more technical and customer-facing, focused on understanding how systems work and explaining how they meet security requirements. You will work closely with engineers and government stakeholders to support secure deployment of modern platforms, including cloud and containerized environments.
Key Responsibilities- Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts across multiple systems
- Interpret system architectures and align them to security controls
- Adapt and maintain technical security documentation
- Serve as a point of contact for stakeholders on cybersecurity and compliance topics
- Help explain how systems meet security requirements in customer-facing discussions
- Analyze vulnerabilities and support remediation efforts (STIGs, ACAS, etc.)
- Participate in security assessments and compliance reviews
Required Qualifications- Active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility required)
- DoD 8570/8140 certification (Security+ or higher)
- IAT Level II certification
- Experience supporting RMF or ATO efforts
- Ability to understand and clearly explain technical systems
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Washington, DC
Preferred Experience- Experience in systems administration, engineering, or DevOps
- Experience with Linux environments
- Exposure to containers and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with AWS or cloud platforms
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53, STIGs, or related frameworks

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $82.00/hr.
