JOB DESCRIPTION

Wireless Operations Engineer

Hands-on experience supporting wireless or network services in a live production operations environment.
Demonstrated ownership of customer-impacting incidents.
Working knowledge of WiFi infrastructure and authentication technologies, including access points, controllers, AAA/RADIUS, and EAP.
Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
Experience with monitoring, visualization, packet analysis, ticketing, and Linux-based troubleshooting tools.
Ability to interpret operational data and communicate technical findings clearly.
Ability to automate repetitive operational work with scripting or platform tools.

Top Skills Details

Working knowledge of access points, wireless controllers, AAA/RADIUS, EAP authentication, and the end-to-end client connection path.
Strong Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, IPv4/IPv6, latency, and packet loss.
Ability to determine whether an apparent WiFi problem is caused by wireless infrastructure, authentication, or an underlying network service.
Hands-on experience using operational tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Tableau, Wireshark, Linux command-line utilities, Jira, and ServiceNow. Comparable tools are acceptable.
Ability to use Python, Bash, OpenShift, or similar technologies to automate health checks, alarm analysis, reporting, and repetitive operational tasks.
Candidates with direct ownership of production issues should be prioritized over candidates whose experience is primarily in a lab, product, or testing environment.
