Job Title: IaaS Administrator VRA SME (VxRail)

Location: Atlanta / Dallas (Day 1 Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IaaS Administrator (VRA SME) to manage and support a Private Cloud environment built on VMware technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in vSphere, vRealize Suite (vRA, vROps), and VxRail, along with experience in automation, infrastructure optimization, and cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management & Support

• Administer VMware vSphere and vRealize environments
• Configure and manage vSAN, NSX/AVI, vRA, SRM, and vSphere Replication
• Monitor compute, storage, and networking resources
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security compliance

Automation & Optimization

• Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Terraform
• Enable autoscaling and VM lifecycle automation
• Implement monitoring, logging, dashboards, and reporting
• Optimize infrastructure performance and resource utilization

Migration & Deployment

• Support brownfield to greenfield migrations
• Deploy VSAN Ready nodes for smaller sites
• Perform validation and performance testing post-migration
• Document deployment and migration processes

Operations & Self-Service

• Enable and maintain self-service provisioning via vRA
• Provide documentation and user training
• Ensure access to real-time monitoring and logs

Integration & Compliance

• Integrate base images (Red Hat, Microsoft, etc.)
• Work with CI/CD pipelines for provisioning and patching
• Maintain compliance dashboards and audit reports
• Follow security and governance best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• 7 10+ years of experience in VMware technologies
• Strong expertise in:
• vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation
• vRealize Automation (vRA) & vRealize Operations (vROps)
• Experience with automation tools: PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible
• Hands-on with Site Recovery Manager & vSphere Replication
• Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and security
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware Certifications (VCP-DCV, VCAP or higher)
• Experience in enterprise/private cloud environments
• Knowledge of ITIL processes
• Exposure to Kubernetes & Docker
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and security standards
