Description:We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to define and drive the technical vision for a modern enterprise platform supporting a portfolio of cloud-based products and services for one of our healthcare clients.
This individual will play a key role in establishing architectural standards, guiding platform strategy, and enabling engineering
teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available applications. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. This is a contract-to-hire role with strong potential for growth.

Key Responsibilities: - Define and evolve the architecture of enterprise platform capabilities that support multiple products and engineering teams.
- Establish technical standards, reference architectures, and best practices that drive consistency, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Design cloud-native solutions leveraging microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Operations teams to align platform strategy with business objectives.
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on major engineering initiatives.
- Design reusable platform services, developer tooling, frameworks, and integrations that accelerate software delivery.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend platform improvements that enhance engineering productivity and operational effectiveness.
- Drive platform modernization initiatives and support adoption of cloud-native technologies and engineering best practices.
- Promote observability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across the technology organization.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, and implementation guidance for engineering teams.
- Assess opportunities for AI-assisted engineering and AI-enabled platform capabilities.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of software engineering, architecture, or platform engineering experience.
- Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud-native platforms.

- Knowledge of identity management, authentication, authorization, and secure application design.
- Experience leading architecture reviews and establishing technical standards.
- Strong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing solutions using Java, C#, Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar modern technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience within healthcare technology or SaaS organizations.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and healthcare data ecosystems.
- Experience with event-streaming technologies and service mesh architectures.
- Experience with cloud-native networking and observability platforms.
- Experience designing enterprise data platforms and data-driven architectures.
- Experience evaluating or implementing AI-enabled platform capabilities and LLM-based solutions.
- Experience leading platform modernization, engineering transformation, or large-scale cloud migration initiatives.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
