We have 2 locations - Chicago, IL & Dallas, TX

This would be Hybrid role 2-3 days onsite in either of the locaitons - Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong experience in manual testing, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. The ideal candidate will ensure high product quality through a blend of hands-on testing, test automation, and continuous integration practices.

Key Responsibilities

Manual Testing

Analyze business and functional requirements to create test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business analysts
Validate UI, API, and database-level functionality

Automation Testing (SDET Focus)

Design and develop automation test scripts using tools like:

Selenium WebDriver / Cypress / Playwright
TestNG / JUnit / PyTest

Build and maintain test automation frameworks (Hybrid, Data-driven, BDD)
Automate API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate
Integrate automation tests into CI/CD pipelines
Perform code reviews and improve test coverage

Jenkins & CI/CD

Configure and manage Jenkins jobs/pipelines for automated test execution
Integrate test suites with CI/CD workflows
Schedule and trigger automated regression runs
Analyze build results and test reports
Work with DevOps teams to optimize pipeline performance

Required Skills

Core Skills

Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC
Experience in manual and automation testing
Programming knowledge in Java, Python, or JavaScript
Experience with test frameworks and automation tools

CI/CD & Tools

Hands-on experience with Jenkins
Familiarity with Git, Maven/Gradle
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes (nice to have)

Testing Types

Functional Testing
Regression Testing
API Testing
UI Testing
Performance Testing (bonus)
