Work Location: Onsite - Omaha, NE (5 Days onsite) Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Data Engineer to join our team onsite at Omaha, NE. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and SQL, with experience in building scalable, reliable, and high-performance data pipelines. This role requires hands-on development, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing.
- Implement robust data processing solutions using Python, SQL, and occasionally Java.
- Design and optimize data models, including star and snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables.
- Work with cloud-based data platforms and services to build modern data solutions.
- Develop and optimize queries for relational databases and data warehouses.
- Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, monitoring, and logging mechanisms.
- Collaborate with analytics, business, and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
- Ensure production stability with a strong focus on performance tuning and first-time-right delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications - 4-8 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and pipeline development.
- Working knowledge of Java for data processing (as needed).
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and their data services.
- Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark, Databricks, or equivalent technologies.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and query optimization techniques.
- Experience working with enterprise data warehouses.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Strong ownership mindset with a focus on production stability and high-quality delivery.
Preferred Attributes - Experience in implementing scalable and maintainable architecture patterns.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices in data engineering environments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative onsite environment.
The base salary range for this position is $82000 - $100000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies.
