Job Summary
Toyota Motor North America is seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 System DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize DB2 databases in a mainframe environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for DB2 system administration, performance tuning, database security, backup and recovery, and supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 for z/OS environments.
Manage DB2 subsystem configuration, system parameters, and performance tuning.
Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning and resource management.
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
Perform capacity planning and system health monitoring.
Apply DB2 maintenance, patches, and version upgrades.
Support application teams with database design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Manage database security, authorization, and auditing.
Work closely with z/OS system programmers, developers, and infrastructure teams.
Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability of DB2 environments.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience as a DB2 System DBA on Mainframe (z/OS).
Strong experience with DB2 installation, configuration, and upgrades.
Expertise in DB2 performance tuning and optimization.
Hands-on experience with backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
Strong knowledge of z/OS environment and mainframe architecture.
Experience with DB2 utilities (REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD).
Knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, and system-level troubleshooting.
Experience working in enterprise production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DB2 data sharing environments.
Familiarity with IBM tools such as Omegamon, DB2 Admin Tool, or QMF.
Exposure to automation tools and scripting.
Experience in large-scale enterprise or automotive industry environments.
