Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to serve as a technical leader within the instrumentation sustaining engineering team. This role focuses on component obsolescence management, field failure analysis, and hardware improvements to enhance product quality, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in embedded hardware design, system-level troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering best practices, with the ability to lead engineering changes from concept through implementation for released products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure long-term product support and smooth lifecycle transitions.
Key Responsibilities
< data-start="1100" data-end="1148"> Hardware Design & Sustaining Engineering>Provide technical leadership for sustaining existing platforms, VAVE, and quality improvement initiatives
Perform digital & analog simulation for low-voltage embedded hardware designs
Execute schematic capture, PCB layout, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
Ensure design compliance with EMC requirements and conduct product qualification & acceptance testing
Verify compliance with applicable CE and UL standards
Lead field failure analysis and root cause investigations to reduce customer complaints
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Participate in design and reliability reviews for new product development
Provide technical guidance to design, manufacturing, and supplier teams
Collaborate with Operations & Manufacturing Engineering to drive product improvements
Lead Quality and VAVE projects following established product development processes
Manage engineering changes for released products
Meet short-term and long-term project deadlines
Support internal and external stakeholders effectively
Travel up to 10% (domestic & international)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years of hardware design and/or quality engineering experience
Strong experience in:
Statistical analysis, process control, and Design of Experiments (DOE)
High-speed digital & analog PCB layout
Signal integrity and EMI/EMC best practices
Reliability testing methodologies
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Embedded Linux development experience (hardware bring-up, driver integration, debugging)
Proficiency in Altium Designer
Experience with electro-optical detection systems
