JOB SUMMARY  

Under general supervision, the IT Support Specialist will provide technical expertise in computer hardware, software, peripherals, and end-user support within a networked environment. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots complex network infrastructure including LAN/WAN systems and Windows-based environments (Active Directory). Primarily focused on IT infrastructure and user support, while also assisting with production systems, factory automation support, and test software troubleshooting. Ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and technical standards, and performs related duties as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Install, upgrade, repair, and maintain personal computers, servers, and peripheral devices; configure printers, external drives, scanners, and related equipment.
  • Install, configure, and support operating systems and packaged software applications; assist users in effectively utilizing business software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics applications, and internet-based tools.
  • Respond to helpdesk requests and provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues, including remote troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues in both office and production environments, ensuring timely repair or replacement of faulty components such as disks, drives, cables, peripherals, and related systems.
  • Perform data backup and preservation for manufacturing workstations, production test stations, and serviced systems prior to re-imaging or configuration changes.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure
  • Set up, manage, and maintain user accounts and group policies within Active Directory and other access management systems.
  • Manage building access control systems and user credential provisioning.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing test systems and production automation tools.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and updating test software and related hardware to support daily production operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency through test system enhancements and process automation tools.
  • Assist in software improvements with internal teams and external vendors as needed.
  • Assist with the support of production SQL databases
  • Support audio/visual systems for seminars, meetings, and training sessions within company facilities.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with management, staff, vendors, and external organizations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience

  • 3+ years of IT support experience in a networked, manufacturing, or medical device environment

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems

  • Experience supporting users in regulated environments (FDA/ISO familiarity a plus)

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support cross-functional teams

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely around electronic equipment and manufacturing areas
