Job Title: Systems Administrator - Advanced

Employment Type: Contract

Work Location: Onsite (5 days/week) - Tallahassee, FL or surrounding area

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator (Advanced) to support enterprise infrastructure across on-premise and multi-cloud environments. This role focuses on system administration, monitoring, security, and optimization while supporting medium to high-complexity initiatives. The ideal candidate will take ownership of critical infrastructure operations to ensure system availability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and support enterprise infrastructure environments
• Manage server configurations, maintenance, patching, and upgrades
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure availability, performance, and compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system, application, and infrastructure issues
• Support cloud platforms including AWS (required) and Microsoft Azure (preferred)
• Administer Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft platforms
• Configure and manage identity, access management, and security controls
• Create, manage, and maintain Azure DevOps projects, repositories, and CI/CD pipelines
• Evaluate infrastructure performance and recommend scalability and optimization improvements
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams
• Document system configurations, procedures, and automate routine administrative tasks
• Support middleware platforms, API management tools, and automation services
• Assist with design, deployment, and hosting of complex application solutions
• Perform additional duties as required

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered

Experience

• 5-8 years of experience in information systems engineering or related roles
• 3-5 years supporting infrastructure or network environments
• 2-3 years administering Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022)
• 2-3 years of IIS administration
• 2-3 years of networking experience (TCP/IP, DNS, Samba/CIFS, NTFS permissions)
• 2-3 years of hands-on AWS cloud experience (required)
• Experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred)
• Exposure to other cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform - preferred)
• Experience supporting middleware, automation tools, and batch job services (preferred)

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of AWS services and cloud architectures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure services
• Advanced Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu), including patching
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Server products
• Solid networking and cloud network architecture knowledge
• Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and security hardening
• Understanding of infrastructure, application development, and hosting architectures
