Network Specialist - Drive Mission-Critical Network Operations

Leidos is seeking a Network Specialist to support a high-impact, undisclosed network operations program. In this role, you'll be at the center of real-time mission operations-supporting core network infrastructure, resolving complex technical issues, and strengthening operator readiness. What You'll Do

As a technical leader on the operations floor, you'll provide advanced network support, guide operators, and collaborate with engineering teams to keep mission systems secure, stable, and optimized.
Your responsibilities include:

• Serving as the primary network support specialist, diagnosing and resolving complex issues affecting systems and networks
• Managing and maintaining Juniper and Cisco networking systems
• Training and mentoring operators, ensuring they are confident, capable, and mission-ready
• Partnering with program leadership to deliver updates, insights, and recommendations
• Implementing network changes and optimizations to improve performance and reliability
• Collaborating with Tier 3 engineering on deployment changes for production network devices
• Staying current on emerging technologies and best practices in networking and communications

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your expertise directly strengthens mission operations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

You bring a strong technical foundation, operational awareness, and the ability to lead others through complex network challenges.

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
• Current DoD 8140-compliant security certification (IAT/IAM Level III equivalent)
• Ability to obtain required computing environment certification within 6 months
• At least 6 years of networking experience, with a focus on Juniper and Cisco systems
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, IP addressing, and subnetting
• Experience troubleshooting network issues across LAN and large WAN environments, including firewalls and network taps
• Proficiency with tools such as iPerf and Wireshark
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond quickly to real-time dataflow issues
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to support complex technical environments
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to train and mentor personnel in technical and operational domains

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications (Juniper, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, etc.)
• Experience configuring and optimizing Juniper Session Smart Routers
• Experience with TACLANEs and network encryption devices
• Familiarity with mission-environment operational support procedures

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00
