- Serves as senior technical authority supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Cyber Defense Command (DCDC) in Defensive Cyber Operation Internal Defensive Measures (DCO-IDM) techniques, tactics, procedures, design, and network monitoring.
- Identify solutions for complex issues associated with current and future operations and assess effectiveness of ongoing operations.
- Provide direction and guidance to detect, deter, prevent, and respond to strategic attacks against the network.
- Provide staff level operational advice, guidance and oversight regarding the policy, planning, and technical understanding of threat operations.
- Plans and direct work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets priorities, establishes completion dates.

- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.

QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. - Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
- Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
- Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.
ANDQualifying Experience:In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

Experience in defensive cyberspace operations, network operations, and cyberspace related projects; or experience in evaluating and recommending improvements to processes and procedures that monitor the cyber defense network along with IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement.

- A three-year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
- This position is subject to completion of 1-year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
- Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
