Job Title : Software Developer Specialist

Location: Austin 

Job Summary:  

TxDOT is seeking an experienced Software Developer Specialist to develop and deploy AI/ML-powered web applications supporting transportation engineering and digital infrastructure initiatives. The role involves cloud development, DevOps automation, MLOps, and AI/ML solution deployment. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop scalable web applications and AI/ML solutions.  

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.  

  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps tools.  

  • Deploy and optimize ML models in production.  

  • Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise applications. 

Required Skills: 

  • 8+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI.  

  • 8+ years of DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes experience.  

  • Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.  

  • 3+ years of Python development experience.  

  • Experience with NLP, LLMs, RAG systems, and Computer Vision.  

  • Hands-on experience with MLOps tools and ML model deployment. 

Preffered Skills: 

  • GIS and spatial data experience.  

  • Transportation or smart city project experience.  

  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine, Cesium API, or digital twin technologies.
