Job Description:
Summary
The Engineering Drafter supports Engineering teams by creating and maintaining mechanical drawings and basic electrical wiring diagrams used for manufacturing and equipment documentation. This role translates engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications into clear, accurate drawings that support manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Create, revise, and maintain mechanical part and assembly drawings, layouts, and details using SolidWorks CAD software.
* Apply proper dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T per company and industry standards.
* Create and update simple electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and connection drawings for equipment using AutoCAD/DraftSight software.
* Update drawings based on approved engineering changes (ECNs).
* Collaborate with Engineers.
* Support manufacturing, quality, and operations teams by clarifying drawing intent.
* Maintain drawing revisions, version control, and documentation accuracy in the document control system. (SolidWorks PDM and JD Edwards MRP)
Qualifications
Education / Experience
* Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum of 2 years" drafting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar, preferred SolidWorks and PDM Server.
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic electrical schematics.
Skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Working knowledge of GD&T
* Basic understanding of electrical wiring symbols and conventions
* Effective communication and organizational skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and revisions

* Office and manufacturing floor environment
* Occasional shop-floor time to verify drawings
* Standard business hours; occasional overtime during project peaks
