GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the service and support of the technologies that define current and future academic environments within District 200. It is firmly aligned with the concept of Customer Service, responsiveness, and follow-up. As a part of the networking team, network engineers will monitor, maintain, and secure all critical network systems and hardware, as well communicate with faculty, staff, and district administration as appropriate to determine problem areas and provide additional support requirements. This position will also be responsible for projects involving network updates and installation and configuration of new network equipment. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Innovation and Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Network+ or comparable experience/certification
- CompTIA Security+, CCNA or comparable experience/certification
- Google Workspace Administrator certification or comparable experience/certification
Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, install, maintain, and provide problem-solving services for network, network security, server management and data communication systems.
Participate in planning, implementation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of VMware, Windows and Linux operating systems.
Administer Office 365 and Google Workspace organizational accounts as required.
Implement, configure, monitor, maintain, backup and recover servers that support the work of Information Technology and Information Technology clients including both hardware and software components of such systems.
Participate in planning, implementation, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of the Storage Area Network.
Participate in the managing of organizational licensing and certification renewals.
Perform site inspections, network modeling, analysis and planning for technology implementation.
Monitor network and server performance.
Implement, configure, monitor and maintain network security systems, including hardware and software components.
Monitor anti-virus systems and take appropriate action(s) on infected machines.
Monitor and maintain firewall rules, VPN users, etc.
Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Manage image creation, deploying patches, and maintaining critical updates while minimizing downtime for end users. SCCM experience is a plus.
Regular and predictable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Windows desktop operating system and Windows-based software
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 40 pounds of equipment - required for running cables/hanging AP/lifting switches and equipment.
