Summary

Position Description - Night Shift Only

This role is designated for overnight (night shift) work only. Candidates must be comfortable working nights as part of a 24/7 data center operation.
As an Amazon Data Center Technician, you serve as a primary escalation resource for your support team, specializing in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You are responsible for creating and maintaining documentation for supported technologies and effectively transferring knowledge to junior technicians.
You possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and, when applicable, support remote system administration tasks while collaborating with a distributed virtual team. You are capable of automating repetitive tasks through scripting when needed and work independently to resolve the majority of technical issues.
In this role, you will independently execute small projects and collaborate with your manager to plan and deliver larger, site-level initiatives. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the hardware and systems you support. You demonstrate sound judgment, innovation, and attention to detail, while also taking direction when provided.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

We are seeking Data Center Technicians to support our rapidly expanding infrastructure. This role focuses on hardware and network diagnostics, hands-on repair, and may include participation in an on-call rotation.
Successful candidates are able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, effective communication, work prioritization, and the ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment are critical. Responsibilities also include installing equipment, developing documentation, implementing innovative solutions, and resolving complex data center issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking
  • Employment contingent upon passing a check
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required
  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Advanced understanding of computer hardware, including troubleshooting and repair

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $25.00/hr.
