A bit about us:

Our client is an established mechanical services organization specializing in commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, design-build construction, engineering, and ongoing facility services. The company works across a variety of complex environments, including commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, laboratories, industrial facilities, and other specialized properties.

The HVAC Mechanical Drafter will support the design and construction of mechanical and HVAC systems by developing accurate drawings, layouts, and models used throughout the project lifecycle. This role will work closely with engineers, project managers, field teams, and other members of the design and construction team to help turn mechanical concepts into coordinated, constructible solutions.

The position provides an opportunity to work on a variety of HVAC and mechanical projects, including equipment replacements, renovations, new installations, mechanical rooms, piping systems, ventilation systems, and design-build projects. Our client also utilizes BIM and in-house engineering capabilities to coordinate projects from design through installation.

Job Details

High school diploma or equivalent
Associate degree, technical certificate, or coursework in drafting, CAD, mechanical design, engineering technology, or a related field
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and blueprints
Basic understanding of HVAC and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Familiarity with computer-aided drafting concepts
Basic knowledge of construction terminology
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn new software and technical processes
Ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, project managers, and field personnel
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Interest in developing a career in HVAC, mechanical design, or construction
