This role is ideal for technicians with experience in data center operations, telecommunications, structured cabling, or IT infrastructure who are ready to work independently on standard deployment and operational tasks. As a Data Center Technician, you will execute rack-and-stack activities, structured cabling installations, equipment provisioning, testing, and operational support while ensuring work is performed safely, accurately, and in accordance with customer standards.

What You Will Do

• Install, route, terminate, and dress copper and fiber cabling while ensuring proper labeling, cable management, and adherence to quality standards.
• Install rack power distribution units (PDUs), connect equipment to assigned power sources, and verify proper power and management connectivity.
• Perform equipment provisioning, hardware component installation, and out-of-band (OOB) management connections.
• Execute basic testing and validation activities, including continuity testing, fiber verification, and standard equipment turn-up procedures.
• Perform moves, adds, changes, disconnects (MACD activities), and standard field-replaceable unit (FRU) replacements following approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate installation records, test results, inventory updates, and as-built documentation.
• Identify and escalate design concerns, operational issues, and safety risks to senior technicians or site leadership.

The Skills You Bring
• High school diploma, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent experience required.
• 2+ years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, field services, or IT infrastructure support.
• Working knowledge of data center hardware, racks, servers, networking equipment, power distribution systems, and structured cabling.
• Understanding of copper and fiber cabling practices, basic optical networking concepts, and installation standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation documentation, and methods of procedure (MOPs).
• Experience performing rack-and-stack, cabling, testing, and equipment installation activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, project teams, vendors, and customers while managing assigned work independently.

Physical requirements
• Comfortable working in a physically active environment where lifting, standing, working at heights, and moving equipment may be required.
• Ability to work on ladders or elevated work platforms and comply with all applicable safety requirements and certifications.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
