Role: Senior Cloud & Edge Architect (Akamai, AWS & Azure Front Door)
Location: Malvern, PA or Dallas, TX (Hybrid role-3 days onsite)

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Cloud & Edge Architect with strong hands‑on expertise in Akamai, AWS, and Azure Front Door to design, implement, and optimize secure, high‑performance, and globally distributed digital platforms. This role requires deep experience in CDN strategy, cloud networking, edge security, and infrastructure automation. AEM experience is good to have but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Solution Design
- Design and implement scalable multi‑cloud edge architectures leveraging Akamai, AWS, and Azure Front Door.
- Define global traffic management, failover, caching, and origin protection strategies.
- Architect secure and resilient AWS and Azure environments supporting high‑availability applications.
- Lead solution design workshops and provide technical guidance to stakeholders.
2. Edge & CDN Engineering
- Configure and manage Akamai properties (WAF, Bot Manager, DDoS protection, EdgeWorkers, property rules).
- Design and implement Azure Front Door (Standard/Premium) including routing rules, WAF policies, caching, and custom domains.
- Optimize performance through advanced caching policies, compression, TLS optimization, and traffic routing.
3. Cloud Infrastructure (AWS & Azure)
- Architect and manage AWS services (VPC, ALB/NLB, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, IAM).
- Architect and manage Azure networking and compute services (VNets, Application Gateway, AKS, App Services, Storage, Azure AD).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or Bicep.
4. Security & Governance
- Implement edge security policies, SSL/TLS management, zero‑trust patterns, and origin shielding.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, logging, monitoring, and audit requirements.
- Drive best practices around identity, access control, and secure cloud networking.
5. Delivery & Operational Excellence
- Provide hands‑on troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support.
- Integrate cloud and CDN configurations with CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentor engineering teams and conduct architecture and code reviews.
- Collaborate with DevOps, application, and security teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in cloud and edge architecture.
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Akamai CDN and security solutions.
- Deep knowledge of AWS architecture and networking.
- Strong experience with Azure Front Door and Azure networking.
- Expertise in DNS, SSL/TLS, caching strategies, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps automation.
Good to Have
- Experience supporting AEM or other CMS platforms behind CDN/edge solutions.
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in multi‑cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Splunk).
