Role Summary

Flowserve is seeking a Senior Order Engineer to join our Nuclear Valve Engineering team in Raleigh, NC. This role serves as a critical link between customer requirements, engineering execution, and manufacturing operations, ensuring customer orders are accurately engineered, documented, and released for production.

The Senior Order Engineer is responsible for reviewing customer specifications, developing and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs), generating engineering documentation, supporting quality and compliance requirements, and providing technical support throughout the order lifecycle. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Supply Chain, Drafting, and Order Management teams to ensure successful execution of customer orders.

This is a highly collaborative role that requires strong technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review customer purchase orders, engineering specifications, drawings, and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) and engineering documentation.
  • Prepare engineering reports and technical documentation required to support customer and manufacturing requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering activities necessary to release orders to production.
  • Support quality assurance, traceability, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues impacting production schedules, product quality, or customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Order Management teams to ensure successful order execution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, order engineering, application engineering, project engineering, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience creating and maintaining engineering documentation and BOMs.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard engineering software tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Order Engineering, Application Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order products.
  • Knowledge of valves, pumps, rotating equipment, or flow-control products.
