Loss Time Adjuster with Workers Compensation for Virginia and Atlantic States

 

Position Overview

Company is seeking an experienced Loss Time Adjuster to support the Workers'' Compensation team handling claims within the Atlantic region, with a strong focus on Virginia jurisdictional experience. This is a remote opportunity supporting an existing team vacancy and offers the potential to transition into a full-time role in the future.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing indemnity workers'' compensation claims, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage claim activity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage workers'' compensation claims, primarily indemnity/lost time claims with some medical-only claims
  • Investigate compensability and determine claim exposure
  • Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves
  • Manage medical and indemnity benefits in accordance with state regulations
  • Maintain timely and effective communication with agents, policyholders, claimants, and other business partners
  • Document claim activity accurately and thoroughly
  • Ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements and company standards
  • Prioritize and manage multiple claims effectively while meeting deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of workers'' compensation lost time adjusting experience
  • Strong jurisdictional knowledge of Atlantic states workers'' compensation claims
  • Virginia workers'' compensation experience is required
  • Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Technical Skills

Candidates should be proficient with:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Teams

Additional Information

  • Remote work arrangement, including training
  • Optional onsite office available in Charleston, WV
  • Interview process will include Phone and/or Microsoft Teams interviews
  • Background check and drug screening required prior to onboarding
  • Target start date: Early to mid June 2026
