Job Title: Junior Lab Technician

Job Location: Street Gretna, LA

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain screening instruments used for initial analysis of urine and oral fluid specimens for substances of abuse.
Perform initial review of test results for donor specimens and quality control (QC) samples.
Conduct testing using refractometers and pH meters.
Apply knowledge of screening and specimen validity test methods such as EIA, CEDIA, and ELISA.
Troubleshoot issues related to screening instruments and ensure minimal downtime.
Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality and security procedures for donor information.
Follow all established organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain compliance with SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other applicable regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Chemistry or Biology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of analytical techniques and laboratory procedures.
Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting methods.
Familiarity with certification requirements such as SAMHSA and CAP-FDT.
Understanding of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and related laboratory software systems.

Skills And Competencies:

Attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow strict regulatory and compliance standards.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
