Description

SAIC is seeking an IT Technology Specialist/Tester to join our team in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

This position will sit on-site in Arlington, Virginia at the Pentagon.

Current project technologies include legacy Java, JSP, native Javascript, scriplet code built in Eclipse with a MS SQL server backend and GIT for the code repository.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive testing of current and future software applications and modules, ensuring high-quality delivery for our customers.
  • Develop clear, thorough, and well-structured test cases based on requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, applying strong knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Execute functional, regression, and exploratory testing across multiple environments. Validate new features, enhancements, and defect fixes, and document results with precision and clarity.
  • Log defects in Azure DevOps (ADO) with detailed reproduction steps, expected vs. actual outcomes, and supporting evidence. Collaborate closely with developers to drive timely resolution and maintain transparent communication.
  • Take full ownership of assigned testing tasks, delivering high quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Apply sound judgment and problem-solving techniques to meet objectives while working under general direction.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies-including daily stand ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives-while collaborating with team members in an Azure DevOps environment.
  • Analyze customer needs, quickly learn new tools and technologies, and contribute to effective solutions both independently and within a cross functional team.
  • Prepare and deliver demonstrations of newly implemented functionality to customers or stakeholders, clearly articulating changes, expected behavior, and business value while confidently addressing questions.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of relevant experience; Masters and seven (7) years of relevant experience. PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.

Required Skills:
  • Proven ability to quickly understand and work with complex software systems, technical workflows, and application. architectures.
  • Strong background in structured software testing methodologies, with hands on experience creating, executing, and documenting detailed test procedures.
  • Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools, particularly Azure DevOps (ADO), for organizing test cases, tracking progress, and reporting defects.

  • Active Secret clearance is required for this position.
