Job Title: Database Administrator

Location: US-TX-Houston - (onsite at client office 4 days a week)

Brief Information:

• Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) Database Administrator (DBA) consultant to support a multi-year initiative to implement and operationalize ExaCC as an enterprise database platform for multiple applications and business services.
• The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical implementer with deep Oracle database engineering expertise and demonstrated experience delivering ExaCC environments from implementation through database migration and onboarding, stabilization, and transition to production operations. 
• Oracle DBA depth (7+ years): Hands-on RAC, ASM, Clusterware, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery, and advanced performance tuning (SQL, wait events, I/O, Exadata features).
• Exadata Cloud@Customer delivery: Has implemented and operated ExaCC end to end, from provisioning and readiness checks to production handover, plus OCI tenancy admin (IAM, compartments, VCN/networking, monitoring, Object Storage).
• Migration and cutover: Plans and runs Oracle database migrations, covering assessment, method selection, rehearsal, validation, cutover, rollback, and post-migration stabilization with app owners.
• GoldenGate, Data Guard and HA/DR: Builds and troubleshoots GoldenGate replication (Extract/Replicat, initial loads, lag, abends, resync) and Data Guard standby setups (switchover, failover, DR testing). Knows when to use RAC vs. Data Guard vs. GoldenGate.
• Operational readiness and communication: OEM monitoring, scripting and automation, runbooks and documentation, change, incident and security/audit discipline, and clear status reporting to technical and project stakeholders.
