Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead with strong Banking / Financial Services domain experience to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale applications in a highly regulated financial environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, SQL, and cloud technologies, along with proven experience leading development teams and working closely with architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.

Banking or Financial Services domain experience is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable Java-based enterprise applications.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Java development teams.
• Design and develop applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
• Review technical designs, source code, and development standards.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and engineering teams.
• Drive application modernization, performance improvements, and technical enhancements.
• Develop and maintain secure, high-performance APIs and backend services.
• Troubleshoot complex application, integration, and production issues.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions.
• Ensure applications follow enterprise security, coding, testing, and deployment standards.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Provide technical guidance during production releases and incident resolution.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and estimation.
• Ensure solutions meet banking security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• 8+ years of Java development experience
• 3+ years of Technical Lead / Lead Developer experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+
• Spring Framework / Spring Boot
• Microservices architecture
• RESTful APIs and web services
• Strong SQL and relational database experience
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar databases
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Experience with Git and modern source-control practices
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
• Strong knowledge of application integration and enterprise architecture concepts
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Banking / Financial Services Experience – Mandatory

Candidates must have professional experience working within the Banking or Financial Services domain.

Preferred experience includes one or more of the following:
