Role Overview
The Staff Platform Engineer drives the strategy, architecture, and evolution of enterprise platform engineering capabilities that enable scalable, secure, and efficient software delivery. This role leads the design of platform products, intelligent automation solutions, self-service capabilities, shared services, and cloud-native engineering ecosystems that improve developer productivity and operational excellence. This role specializes in SDLC automation and intelligent engineering, defining the strategic direction for reusable platform products, shared services, frameworks, and self-service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the strategic direction and roadmap for platform engineering capabilities, leading the architecture and design of enterprise platforms, products, and shared services.
- Define enterprise automation strategies that accelerate the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle and lead the development of intelligent automation platforms.
- Define the vision for AI-enabled engineering platforms and agent ecosystems, leading the adoption of LLMs, agent orchestration frameworks, and emerging AI technologies.
- Define and drive the vision for developer experience across engineering platforms, leading the design of self-service ecosystems.
- Define strategies for platform reliability, resilience, scalability, and performance, leading delivery enablement and observability capabilities.
- Define platform-wide governance, security, compliance, and risk management strategies, establishing enterprise guardrails and secure-by-design principles.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience.
Experience: 8-10 years of experience in platform engineering, software engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, or automation engineering. Proven experience designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise platform capabilities and shared services is required. Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technical initiatives and influencing engineering strategy across multiple teams is also necessary.
Technical Skills: One of the following certifications is required: AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud - Cloud Digital Leader. Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, automation, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading enterprise platform transformations, cloud modernization programs, developer experience initiatives, or AI-enabled engineering programs.
- Experience defining technology strategy and influencing organization-wide engineering standards and roadmaps.
- Relevant industry certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps, platform engineering, software development, automation, AI/ML, or data engineering.
