Java Analyst Developer

Our client is seeking a skilled Java Analyst Developer to design, develop, and support custom enterprise business applications. This role combines technical development expertise with business analysis responsibilities, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. The ideal candidate is experienced in Java-based web application development, relational databases, and enterprise system integration, with strong analytical skills, enterprise application experience, and the ability to bridge business needs with technical implementation. This individual is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and implement custom business applications using Java and related technologies.
• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain web applications using Java, JSP, Servlets, and modern frameworks such as Spring.
• Create and maintain SQL queries, PL/SQL packages, and database objects in Oracle or other relational databases.
• Build and maintain reporting solutions using Jasper Reports and related tools.
• Produce technical documentation, including system designs, test plans, and user documentation.
• Collaborate with QA teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
• Support application enhancements, performance improvements, and system maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to security, coding, and architectural standards.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously improve technical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of experience in Java application development within an enterprise IT environment.
• Strong experience developing web applications using Java, JSP, Servlets, and Spring framework.
• Proficiency with relational databases and SQL; experience with Oracle preferred.
• Experience with web services and service-oriented architecture (REST).
• Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Java Server Faces (JSF), React, and GitLab.
• Experience developing PL/SQL packages, triggers, and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with Oracle database administration concepts.
• Experience with XML, JSON, and modern integration technologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
• Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
• Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
• Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
