Technical Lead - Platform testing

Project description

We’re building next-gen hardware for IFE, and the project needs new testing mechanisms to support that hardware.

Position summary

The role owns end-to-end test fixture design, including architecture, breakout cabling, configuration optimization, vendor coordination, standardized designs, lab-space efficiency, maintainability, and support for multiple test configurations using modern software-based testing approaches.

Duties and responsibilities

• Design breakout cabling and configuration layouts for test fixtures.
• Optimize fixture designs for limited lab space and reuse across multiple test configurations.
• Coordinate with vendors for timely, high-quality fixture builds and review deliverables.
• Ensure fixtures are maintainable, flexible, and support software-based testing approaches.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant coursework in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of test fixture design, breakout cabling/harness architecture, and lab equipment integration.
• Strong understanding of software-based testing and ability to read schematics/wiring diagrams.
• No certification required.
• 5+ years of experience in test fixture design, hardware validation, or related engineering roles, including vendor management.

• IFE or aerospace hardware testing experience.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation for test processes.
• Experience with international vendors or manufacturing partners.

Physical requirements

• Lift/move test equipment up to 25-35 lbs.
• Work in a lab environment for extended periods, including standing/bending.
• Manual dexterity for cable routing and connector assembly.
