Summary

CTG is seeking an experienced Semiconductor Equipment & Process Engineer for an ongoing contract opportunity with our client. This role supports semiconductor manufacturing, wafer processing, automated production equipment, equipment reliability, and process optimization.

Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: Ongoing Contract

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, configure, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing equipment and automated production systems.
  • Support wafer processing, including photolithography, thin-film deposition, wet etch, wafer metrology, and wafer dicing.
  • Troubleshoot and configure robotics, PLCs, SMT, AOI, and automated inspection systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment qualification, calibration, and process optimization.
  • Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer, operating system, and networking issues.
  • Develop and modify equipment-control and automation programs using C++ and Python.
  • Create technical documentation, schematics, layouts, and equipment/process drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Visio.
  • Support equipment installation, integration, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Support highly automated semiconductor and, as needed, medical-device manufacturing environments.

Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on semiconductor manufacturing and semiconductor equipment experience.
  • Experience working in semiconductor cleanroom environments.
  • Knowledge of wafer processing, wafer metrology, photolithography, thin-film deposition, wet etch, and/or wafer dicing.
  • Experience with PLC programming/troubleshooting and robotics.
  • Strong equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with SMT/AOI or automated inspection equipment.
  • Understanding of electronics, computer hardware, operating systems, and industrial networking.
  • Programming experience with C++ and/or Python.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Laser technology experience.
  • Semiconductor equipment/process integration experience.
  • Experience supporting highly automated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with equipment reliability, process optimization, and continuous improvement.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on semiconductor manufacturing experience may be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70.00 to $75.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
