Senior DevOps Engineer – CI/CD Modernization (Jenkins → GitLab)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead a major CI/CD modernization: migrating from Jenkins to GitLab CI/CD and building a scalable delivery platform on AWS with Terraform and container‑native workflows. This role is hands‑on, high impact, and central to our platform engineering transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Migrate Jenkins pipelines to GitLab CI/CD
• Build reusable GitLab CI templates and onboarding patterns
• Design/operate GitLab Runners on AWS ECS Fargate
• Manage platform infrastructure using Terraform with GitOps practices
• Integrate AWS services (IAM, ECR, S3, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, SSM)
• Improve reliability, scalability, and developer experience
• Partner with engineering teams to onboard applications and reduce toil

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years DevOps / Platform Engineering experience
• Strong Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD experience
• AWS expertise (ECS/Fargate, IAM, ECR, S3, CloudWatch)
• Terraform (modules, remote state, CI/CD plan/apply)
• Docker/container build expertise
• Scripting: Bash and/or Python; strong YAML skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Jenkins→GitLab migration experience
• GitLab Runner fleet management
• Kubernetes (EKS) exposure
• CI/CD security tooling (SAST/SCA/secrets scanning)
• AWS/GitLab certifications
