Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Edison, NJ is seeking a Health Applications VMO Analyst to join their team and play a key role in vendor management, contracting, and governance across a portfolio of healthcare applications.
Summary:
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where you will partner with IT, clinical, and operational leadership to ensure vendor performance, compliance, and alignment with business and patient care objectives.
Duties Include:
Vendor Strategy & Governance:
* Act as a strategic partner to Health Applications leadership, managing vendor relationships across EHR, clinical applications, interoperability, and managed services
* Lead vendor engagement strategies for new initiatives, expansions, and ongoing services
* Translate business and clinical needs into clear scopes, deliverables, and governance models
Contracting & Negotiation:
* Structure, negotiate, and manage contracts (MSAs, SOWs, amendments, BAAs)
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA/HITECH, data privacy, and security requirements
* Support sourcing events (RFPs/RFIs), vendor selection, and negotiation cycles
* Drive clarity in pricing, deliverables, and risk allocation
Vendor Performance Management:
* Establish and manage SLAs, KPIs, and vendor scorecards
* Run operational cadences (weekly check-ins, monthly reviews, QBRs)
* Drive issue resolution, escalation management, and corrective action planning
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Partner with Clinical, HIM, Privacy, Security, and Legal teams
* Align vendor deliverables with clinical workflows and operational readiness
* Support system upgrades, go-lives, hypercare, and stabilization efforts
* Ensure alignment with interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR)
Reporting & Optimization:
* Build executive-level dashboards on vendor performance, risk, and financials
* Identify cost savings through vendor rationalization and contract optimization
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience working within a hospital or healthcare system environment
* Vendor Management (VMO) and third-party governance experience
* Strong contracting and negotiation skills (MSAs, SOWs, BAAs, amendments)
* Experience supporting EHR platforms (Epic preferred) and clinical applications
* Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH, data privacy and security)
* Experience with RFx processes (RFPs, RFIs, vendor selection)
* Ability to define and manage SLAs, KPIs, and vendor performance metrics
* Familiarity with interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR)
* Strong stakeholder management across IT, clinical, and business teams
* Experience with managed services providers and application support models
* Ability to drive issue resolution, escalation management, and vendor accountability
* Strong analytical, reporting, and dashboarding skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
