Summary

Our client is seeking an ETL Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting enterprise data and analytics initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale data integration, warehousing, and reporting solutions while working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams across the organization.

The successful candidate will leverage expertise in SQL Server, SSIS, ETL development, data modeling, and data warehousing best practices to design, develop, and maintain reliable data solutions that support critical business operations and decision-making. Responsibilities include analyzing source systems, creating and supporting data integration processes, developing data warehouse structures, and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of enterprise data assets.

This position is ideal for a hands-on data professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges, optimizing data processes, and delivering scalable solutions in a collaborative environment. The individual will participate in all phases of the data lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, documentation, implementation, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data integration workflows using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Support ongoing database administration activities, including environment refreshes, migrations, and data synchronization efforts.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
  • Analyze source systems to identify data structures, relationships, anomalies, and quality concerns.
  • Build and enhance ETL processes that acquire, validate, transform, and load data into enterprise reporting and warehouse environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain logical and physical data models across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Produce technical specifications, solution designs, and supporting documentation for data integration and warehouse initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, mapping documents, and process documentation.
  • Monitor and improve data integrity by validating data movement, transformations, and reconciliation processes.
  • Partner with project teams to ensure technical deliverables align with business objectives and functional requirements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent experience and education will also be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on experience working with Microsoft SQL Server environments or comparable relational database platforms.
  • Solid understanding of ETL concepts, methodologies, and tools, with SSIS experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing end-to-end data integration solutions including extraction, transformation, cleansing, validation, aggregation, and error management.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced T-SQL development, query optimization, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
  • Practical experience with data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and industry-standard methodologies such as Kimball.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft business and project management tools, including Microsoft Office applications, Dynamics CRM, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and source control or application lifecycle management platforms.
  • Ability to interpret business and technical requirements, analyze complex documentation, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments supporting business intelligence, analytics, or enterprise data initiatives.
