Sr. QA Mobile Engineer

Key Responsibilities / Day to Day Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands on QA driver for the mobile application, actively pushing testing efforts forward and ensuring quality initiatives are executed rather than passively observed.


• Lead mobile QA efforts for a greenfield mobile application, including designing, building, and owning a mobile test strategy from the ground up where no prior mobile automation framework exists.


• Build and maintain mobile automation frameworks from scratch, selecting appropriate tools and approaches based on the product and team needs rather than extending pre existing frameworks.


• Perform extensive manual mobile testing in the early phases of development, while progressively transitioning the test suite toward a predominantly automated model as the application matures.


• Balance and value both manual and automated testing, applying each appropriately to ensure coverage, usability, and overall application quality.


• Partner closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders in a fast paced, startup like environment to understand requirements, clarify expectations, and identify quality risks early.


• Adapt testing approaches to a rapidly changing product and organization, demonstrating flexibility and sound judgment rather than relying on rigid, enterprise only processes.


• Contribute mobile testing expertise to a team that currently lacks deep mobile QA experience, acting as a subject matter expert for mobile quality practices.


• Validate customer facing mobile functionality for a policyholder portal, ensuring reliability, usability, and accuracy for end users interacting with their insurance policies.


• Participate in technical discussions and testing assessments by clearly and succinctly explaining problem solving approaches, test design decisions, and prior mobile testing experience.


• Communicate testing progress, risks, and results clearly and directly, focusing on actionable insights rather than excessive documentation or over engineered solutions.


• Apply prior experience from both smaller, agile teams and more structured environments to strike the right balance between speed, quality, and maintainability.
