Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments. Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique and complex problems involving complex equipment or process.

What you'll do
  • Provides engineering in form of models, drawings, feasibility studies, technical reports, design calculations, manufacture oversite etc.
  • Responsible for engineering packages within projects
  • Leads and directs engineering teams within the engineering department, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective engineering project execution
  • Manage budgets based on hours
  • Interfaces with individuals and units within or outside the organization (project managers, supply chain, etc.), as well as with customers and suppliers, with responsibility for acting independently on technical, project related matters
  • Adheres to engineering and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations within the engineering teams
  • Support maintenance of project engineering schedules and milestones
  • Ensures that engineering tasks are executed within budget, in quality and in an economical manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • Technical, problem-solving, communication and leadership skills
  • 7-10 years' experience
  • Ability to interact with our global engineering team
  • Ability to interact with Project Management, Supply Chain, customers and suppliers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent with 3D engineering software, Finite Element Analysis, Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Experience with Continuous Casting is much preferred
