TechAGI Solutions is seeking an experienced API Solution Architect with strong expertise in Apigee, FHIR, and Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will design secure, scalable, and highly available API solutions that support healthcare interoperability and enterprise data exchange.

This role requires hands-on experience with API architecture, Apigee Edge or Apigee X, FHIR R4/R5, HL7 standards, Google Cloud Platform services, microservices, and API security. The architect will collaborate with engineering, security, cloud, and business teams to establish API standards and deliver reliable healthcare integration solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design secure, scalable, and reusable enterprise API solutions using Apigee Edge or Apigee X.
  • Develop and configure Apigee API proxies, shared flows, policies, products, applications, and developer portals.
  • Define API architecture, governance standards, naming conventions, versioning strategies, and lifecycle-management practices.
  • Design and implement healthcare data-exchange solutions using FHIR R4/R5 and HL7 standards.
  • Create FHIR-based APIs and integration patterns for exchanging clinical and administrative healthcare information.
  • Design scalable and highly available cloud solutions using Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop cloud-native integration solutions using GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, and related Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, TLS, IAM, token validation, access controls, encryption, and other security practices.
  • Design API traffic-management, rate-limiting, monitoring, logging, caching, and threat-protection policies.
  • Integrate healthcare applications, clinical systems, data platforms, and enterprise services.
  • Support microservices architecture and enterprise API integration initiatives.
  • Review existing applications and recommend appropriate API modernization and cloud-migration approaches.
  • Produce solution designs, architecture diagrams, interface specifications, security standards, and technical documentation.
  • Guide development teams on Apigee, cloud architecture, API security, FHIR implementation, and integration best practices.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production-support activities.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, data, application, and healthcare-domain stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise API-management solutions.
  • Experience with FHIR R4 and/or FHIR R5.
  • Strong understanding of HL7 standards and healthcare interoperability.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience working with GKE, Cloud Run, and BigQuery.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, API gateways, microservices, and cloud architecture.
  • Experience securing APIs using OAuth 2.0, TLS, IAM, encryption, token-based authentication, and access-control mechanisms.
  • Experience designing healthcare interoperability and data-exchange solutions.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, reusable, and highly available integration solutions.
  • Experience creating architectural documents, technical specifications, and implementation guidelines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Google Cloud Healthcare API.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA-aligned security and privacy requirements.
  • Experience integrating electronic health record, clinical, payer, provider, or healthcare data platforms.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, and API testing.
  • Apigee, Google Cloud, FHIR, or healthcare interoperability certification.
  • Experience modernizing legacy healthcare integrations and migrating them to cloud-native architectures.
