Summary

Our client, a leading consulting firm, is in need of a Telephony Engineer for an initial 6 month remote contract supporting a customer on the east coast. The Telephony Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of voice / telephony capabilities for the customers CCaaS platform (Genesys environment) with AI-driven conversational and analytics integration. The Telephony Engineer will be primarily responsible for deploying and managing Ribbon SBCs (Session Border Controllers) to secure voice traffic and enable interoperability, establish / support PSTN connectivity, configure / troubleshoot SIP trunk connectivity between contact center platforms and provide troubleshooting support across call routing, connectivity and carrier services.

Required Skills:

  • ???? At least 5 years of experience in contact center telephony engineering.
  • Experience designing and implementing Ribbon SBC call flows, including DNIS-based routing and call handling scenarios.
  • Experience with SIP protocol, SIP message analysis, SIP header manipulation, normalization, and routing table configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with Ribbon PSX, including routing logic, policy management, and integration with external APIs/services.
  • Ability to perform end-to-end call troubleshooting using SIP traces, ladder diagrams, and SBC diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of voice network architectures, enterprise voice or any routing environment
  • Experience with high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery designs for SBC and SIP infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including TLS, SRTP, and SIP fraud prevention.

Preferred or Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with bot frameworks and conversational design (intents, entities, dialog management, fallback handling).
  • Experience building customer reporting / analytics for the voice channel using APIs or event streams.
  • Any IVR Design / Development experience.
  • Call Flow Design and Optimization experience.

The expected hourly rate range for this role is $54 - 78/ hr.
